ESG AI Tools have become essential for sustainability teams worldwide. Everyone asks ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude about ESG topics these days. The question that keeps coming up with the ESG PRO team is simple: which ESG AI tools actually understand Thai context best?

How We Tested ESG AI Tools

We prepared 10 ESG questions across 5 categories: fundamental knowledge, international standards, Thai context, deep analysis, and questions testing how current the data is.

All questions went to ChatGPT GPT-4o, Gemini 2.5 Pro, and Claude Sonnet 4.5 during Q1 of 2026. We compared the answers one by one. Every question was asked in Thai to see how these ESG AI tools handle local language and context.

ESG AI Tools Test Results: Fundamentals

First question: how do ESG and CSR differ? All three ESG AI tools answered similarly. Claude explained the structure in most detail. ChatGPT had the most tangible examples. Gemini was concise but complete.

Second question: what is Double Materiality and how does it differ from Single Materiality? Claude led here with clear Inside-out vs Outside-in explanation. ChatGPT followed the CSRD standard well. Gemini was modern but lacked Thai context.

ESG AI Tools Test Results: International Standards

Third question: when do IFRS S1 and S2 become mandatory for Thai companies? This tests how current these ESG AI tools are. ChatGPT scored highest because of built-in web search. Claude was cautious and recommended verifying with the SEC. Gemini gave incomplete info.

Fourth question: how many parts does ISO 14064 have? Claude explained all three parts (1, 2, 3) and their relationships in most detail. ChatGPT and Gemini answered completely but with less depth.

ESG AI Tools Test Results: Thai Context

Fifth question: is SET ESG Ratings still active or has it switched to FTSE Russell? Very interesting result. Gemini answered incorrectly with outdated data. ChatGPT answered correctly after searching. Claude admitted uncertainty and recommended checking with SET directly.

Sixth question: what are the key provisions of Thailand's Climate Change Act? All three ESG AI tools answered similarly, but ChatGPT had the most current information.

ESG AI Tools: Which Tool for Which Job

No clear winner emerged. Each of these ESG AI tools has distinct strengths.

ChatGPT fits work needing current data because web search in GPT-4o is fast and reliable. Best for research on regulations and current situations.

Claude fits structural analysis and framework planning. Claude's answers tend to be deep and systematic, and importantly, Claude admits uncertainty. This matters greatly in ESG work where accuracy is critical.

Gemini fits work needing speed and brevity. But beware of data currency issues, especially for Thai-specific information.

Using ESG AI Tools Safely

All ESG AI tools still have hallucination issues at different levels, especially with Thailand-specific data like TGO Emission Factors, Thai regulations, or SET assessment criteria.

Use ChatGPT when you need current data and research. Use Claude for strategic analysis or framework design. Use Gemini for quick summaries or image-based work.

Don't trust AI 100 percent. Human consultants with real expertise remain essential, especially when data must be used in official reports or significant decisions.
